Stoltmann Law Offices is investigating Global Arena Capital Corp, after the Alaska Division of Banking and Securities filed a complaint against the firm, as well as six of their current and former principals. The principals are former president Barbara Desiderio, Jonah Engler, Hector Perez (aka Bruce Johnson) Jonathan Sheklow, Peter Snetzko and Joshua Turney. It was alleged that two agents of Global Arena Capital solicited a 78 year-old investor from Alaska to invest in corporate and municipal bonds. Allegedly, Desiderio, Engler, Perez, Sheklow, Snetzko and Turney selected the investments, then told junior agents to sell them. They told the client that the bonds he was investing in (Nii Capital Corp 10% bonds) were safe, when, in fact, they were barely above default. Five months after purchasing the bonds, the client lost $16,000 of the $27,000 he invested. He was never paid the first interest on the bonds. For this, the principals and Global Arena Capital were ordered to pay $25,000 each. If you invested money with any of the above brokers, or Global Arena Capital, Global Arena Capital can be sued for investment losses.
