The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has suspended former Commonwealth Financial Advisor, Voigt Kempson, who allegedly made 40 unauthorized trades in one of his deceased client’s accounts between June 2015 and April 2016. Kempson allegedly failed to inform his firm of the client’s death and continued to trade in his accounts. He lacked written authority to do so. For this, he was suspended for 30 days and was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine. He was terminated from Commonwealth in 2016, after he failed to notify the firm about the deaths of two clients. This is against securities laws. Mr. Kempson was previously registered with Northwestern Mutual Investment Services, Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc., Guardian Investor Services Corp, Park Avenue Securities, and Commonwealth Financial Network in Sparta, New Jersey from February 2007 until June 2016. He is currently registered with American Portfolios Financial Services in Sparta, New Jersey and has been since June 2016. He has one criminal pending charge against him. If you suffered losses with Mr. Kempson, you may be able to recover them by bringing a claim against his former firm, Commonwealth, in the FINRA arbitration forum. The call to us is free with no obligation, and we may be able to help you sue the firm on a contingency fee basis. 312-332-4200. We are based in Chicago, Illinois.
