Stoltmann Law Offices is investigating Jay Jules Gruenebaum, a former broker with Stifel Nicolaus who was terminated by the firm. He was being investigated by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) over two customer complains on mishandling accounts and certain representations he made to them, as well as unauthorized payments, according to a settlement notice accepted on Monday by the department of enforcement. He was barred from the industry by FINRA after refusing to appear for an on-the-record testimony. Before Stiflel, Gruenebaum was terminated by Merrill Lynch after six years of employment for allegedly altering client documents on multiple occasions.

According to his online FINRA BrokerCheck report, Gruenebaum was registered with JJB Hilliard WL Lyons in Louisville, Kentucky from July 1993 until November 2001, AG Edwards & Sons in Zanesville, Ohio from November 2001 until August 2007, Merrill Lynch in Zanesville from August 2007 until April 2013 and Stifel, Nicolaus in Zanesville from March 2013 until June 2016. He has three customer disputes against him. He is not licensed within the industry.
