What Did Your Brokerage Firm or Investment Adviser Do Wrong With GWG
Published On: May 2, 2017

Recently, the Arkansas Securities Department brought a regulatory action against Raymond Adcock, for allegedly selling investments in companies called Talon LLC and Talon Capital LP. Adcock was one of the owners and principals of Talon entities. The Arkansas Securities Department also brought claims against Charles Ferrill, the other principal of Talon. Talon had issued $465,000 in promissory notes to investors and was purported to serve as a “hedge fund incubator” for an eventual hedge fund to be operated by Talon Capital. Talon Capital was supposed to earn money by its trading strategy, but Ferrill withdrew money from the accounts to pay personal expenses. Adcock also earned $78,000 in commissions from trading the account. The state of Arkansas also alleges that Talon lost money on the trading. For this, Raymond Adcock was barred from the securities industry in the state.

According to Adcock’s BrokerCheck report, he was registered with First Investment Securities, Robert Thomas Securities, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Keegan, First Commercial Investments, Regions Investment Company, Investment Professionals, Brookstreet Securities Corp and Regal Securities in Cabot, Arkansas from July 2007 until April 2015. He has two customer disputes against him. He his not licensed within the industry and he has been permanently barred. Ferrill was registered with Sunbelt Financial Securities, Financial Exchange, Townes & Co., Morgan Keegan, Brookstreet Securities and Regal Securities in Little Rock, Arkansas from July 2007 until May 2011. He has two customer disputes against him. He is not licensed within the industry.
